Join us for a field tour of research conducted by the Sustainable Agricultural Systems Laboratory (SASL) at USDA’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in Beltsville, MD. Highlighted projects will include legume cover crops and poultry litter to balance nitrogen and phosphorus levels, weed and insect management in reduced-tillage organic systems, experimental perennial wheat breeding lines, nitrogen use efficiency, and greenhouse gas measurements. Innovative equipment for subsurface poultry litter application, reduced-tillage cultivation, and cover crop inter-seeding will be demonstrated.
